The first Father's Day was also on June 19th in 1910, just one year after Mother's Day was established as a national holiday.
You know, moms and dads have an extremely important role in the lives of their children: nurturers, teachers, providers, fashion guides, comforters, role models, cheerleaders, chauffeurs, coaches, shepherds, nutritionists, medical experts...and on and on. We are a little bit of everything for our kids!
Some moms and some dads are doing it all on their own. They are both mom and dad --a double-responsibility!

I'm commenting on my own post! My dad has been such a good dad. He has always been a good listener and willing to be a good teacher, if only I had let him! :) (He wanted to teach me the ropes of "high finance" and I turned him down. That was a really stupid move on my part.)
ReplyDeleteHe put a built-in swimming pool in our back yard. He did it all himself and he did a great job, with a beautiful patio and creek with waterfall, too. Dad worked so hard and was, and is, so faithful. He is the BEST!
