Neiman Marcus Cookie Recipe

Delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies

Would you pay $250.00 for a great chocolate chip cookie recipe?  Even a colossal chocolate chip cookie recipe with Hershey's chocolate shavings and nuts?

Legend has it that a woman purchased a recipe from the high-end department store, Neiman Marcus, for just that: $250.00.  The story goes that she thought she was adding it to her lunch tab for $2.50 -- only to find that the credit card statement showed that she'd been charged $250.00.

It goes on to say that she was so outraged at the price tag, and their refusal to refund the sale, that she publicized their "very exclusive" recipe to the world for free! Again, the story is an urban legend (Neiman Marcus denies ever selling recipes for anything) but it is fun, isn't it!

My dad loves making these cookies. They are outrageously good. The recipe takes some time to make but it is worth it.
It makes a lot of them: 112 cookies.
So, you have some decisions to make:
  • Bake them all and eat them all
  • Bake them and share some with friends
  • Freeze a portion for later, or
  • Cut the recipe in half (still a lot of great cookies)
Whatever you do, make them!  You will be so glad.
