Like when you have a sick child home from school. That is not the time to be getting a zillion things done all at once. That's the time to invest in your little one getting better and pouring in some tender-loving-care.
When times are good, or almost good, THAT is when you plan and implement.
Here are five great ideas that will make time go more smoothly:
- Multi-task. Throw in a load of laundry that can be washing while you do something else. In fact, get the dishes loaded up in the dishwasher, too. Now you'll be getting three things done at the same time!
- Shop ahead. Rethink your grocery shopping habits. How can you get it down to every two weeks instead of every week? That could put 2-3 hours back into your life!
- Make a grocery list and check it twice! Check expiration dates on regularly used items before you go. I learned this one the hard way. Certain that I was making my shopping trip to take care of two weeks, I wrote my list. We had a nearly full gallon of milk in the frig. What I didn't know is that it was one day away from expiration. So, I was back at the store only a day later! Now I check the longevity of our food and plan ahead.
- Reschedule your life. Have things changed? Saturdays have always been your shopping days? Will another day work even better?
Something had to change. So, on Thursday nights after work I now go grocery shopping. It is WONDERFUL. Much less crowded and everything I need is out on the shelves. My husband has dinner ready for us later than usual and, after we eat, the groceries get put away.
5. Do it now. Certain tasks can get put off till later that will become a heavier weight, if you do.

Lists are definitely the solution for me. And limiting my time online, doing everything I need within a couple of hours or so. Also, you are very right about not putting off things for later. It's just lumps together with other things that has to be done. Lovely to meet you :) Visiting from iblog4me
