Ducks 'n a Row Has Won An Award!

I was so surprised and honored when I heard that Cathy from A Peek Into My Paradise nominated me to receive the Liebster Award for blogging excellence.

"Speechless" is a better way of describing it...and blessed. Then the question came up that everyone asks, "What IS the Liebster Award?"  I wondered.  So I Googled it and found out that "liebster" is a German word that means "sweetheart, beloved, darling". The award is a show of appreciation -- admiration -- from one blogger to another. Isn't that nice? Wow!

So, I humbly accept this honor and post the emblem with pride.

There are a few details and responsibilities in accepting the Liebster Award (I extracted these guidelines from more than one post explaining the award.):

1. Link back to your nominating blog.
2. Answer the questions they have provided
3. Share 10 random facts about yourself.
4. Nominate 5-11 up and coming bloggers who have no more than 200-3000 followers
5. Generate 11 questions to be answered by your nominees.
6. Contact your nominees to let them know the news!

First, the best part...
The seven bloggers that I nominate for the LIEBSTER AWARD are:

Ladies, here are my questions for you:

  • When and why did you first start blogging?
  • If you won the lottery, what would you do with it?
  • What was your first car and does it hold fond memories?
  • If it were safe to own a wild animal as a pet, which one would you pick?
  • Are you a tom-boy or a frilly fashionista?
  • What is your favorite color?
  • What is your favorite food?
  • If you could go anywhere in the world, and money were no object, where would it be?
  • Do you have a hobby? What is it?
  • If you had to pick a different era to live in other than now, when and where?
  • What was your first job?

My answers to Cathy's questions about me...

1. What is your favorite style of TV program? ex: Drama, Reality, Soap Opera...... drama
2. If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be?

I'd find Jesus a WHOLE LOT earlier in life!
3. Have you met any celebrities? If so, who? And if not, who is at the top of your list?
Hmmm. Yes. Mark Spitz, Olympic swimming gold medalist.  He and I appeared in a water show together a zillion years ago.
4. What are the top five on your bucket list?
Go to Hawaii. Go to Disney World, Go to New York City in December, Go to Hawaii and Go to Hawaii. (Did I say go to Hawaii????)
5. Do you prefer baths or showers?
6. If you could live anywhere, where would that be?
Hawaii, with all of my family and friends, of course.
7. What did you want to be when you grew up? Did you meet your expectations? Actress and screen writer. I did a little of both but on a very small scale.
8. What was the last book you read? Commanding Your Morning
9. Do you like clowns? No, not at all...but I wish them no harm. They just need to stay away from me, though!

10. Who would you choose to be the actress in the movie of your life?  Sandra Bullock (great question!!!)

10 random facts about me..
  1. I'm short. 5 ft 2 inches. Decided "way back when" that that was a good thing so that all the guys would be taller than me. Hubby is 6 ft 2 inches. He is definitely taller than me!
  2. Gave birth to one beautiful boy...Joshua..and have 5 children in all. Shannon, Shawn, Heather, Josh and Zachary. Had the privilege of raising Josh, Shannon and Zac. Didn't get to see Shawn and Heather enough. Love them all lots!
  3. Battle of the bulge has been with me almost forever. You know, those 10 extra pounds (15 now) that should've gone off a long time ago? On and off for years.
  4. I love food (which explains the previous statement).
  5. My favorite TV shows are old: Full House and Castle. Every re-run of Castle is new to me. Just started watching this summer.
  6. My previous favorite show was 24.  First show where I never missed an episode of the original airing. Saw them all.
  7. Love dogs and kids.  If I walk into a room of adults and there is a small child or a dog there, forget the adults....I go right to the little ones.
  8. I'm a Grandma! I have 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grands!
  9. My first jobs were as a lifeguard (summer job--best job EVER!) and sales for the Yellow Pages (first fulltime job)
  10. Was a synchronized swimmer many years ago

Again, many hugs to Cathy from A Peek Into My Paradise for giving me this award. It has been lots of fun.

Please stop by Cathy's site to admire her handiwork. She would have been on MY list if she hadn't already nominated me! :)
