“This is gonna be fun” I said, as I set about to honor my mother for Mother’s Day. I did it with a moem. What a fun way to say “I love you Mom.” First, I wrote a short poem as a tribute to my mom and realized it would never fit in a tweet. Too many words. So I went to MetLife’s “moem maker” and did it there. Easy peasy. Published it to Twitter and Facebook. Done! Take a look:
My mom is in heaven now but her memory lives on. The month of May was "mom month" because it included her birthday and Mother’s Day. May is still a time to appreciate what a great mom she was.
Oh, nobody’s perfect. She wasn’t perfect. But she was the best listener. As a little girl, I had words to share…lots of words… and I needed a good listener to work with me. Mom was my listener and my sounding board. In many ways, she was my best friend. It is easy to write a tribute to her. Not so easy to write one in 110 characters or less. But I did it!
What I love about this campaign is that every unique moem published from now through May 11th 11:59 pm will also result in a $10 donation being made by Met Life to Dress for Success up to a total $50K What a great idea.
So, have some Mother’s Day fun. Go here #Moem and write a moem. When you write it, be sure to use #moem in your Tweet and Facebook posts to build momentum and get that donation sent.
