Shower Curtain Hanging Tips - So Easy To Do

how to hang a shower curtain with liner #shower #curtain #bathroom

Why, oh why, did my shower curtain continuously get in the condition it was? For years I would let it go till the plastic liner was disgusting and I finally had to buy a new one to replace it. At that time, I would wash the outer curtain as well.

My husband asked me to get a cloth liner, which was a great decision. Fabric shower curtain liners are washable and reusable. Makes so much sense!

With fabric shower curtain liners you...
Save money.
Save the environment.
Can keep it clean all the time.

And still I was dragging my heels when it came to laundering often enough. Why? Why? Why?

Then I figured it out. It was the process of taking it all down and rehanging the curtains that I was avoiding. No woman (OK maybe a female basketball star but no one else) is tall enough to do it without needing a stool. So, I had to bring a stool in from the garage and up the stairs.

What I didn't know was that I was doing it the hard way. I'd hang them by attaching the holes on one end and working my way methodically across the top till all the shower curtain rings were fastened. For a good share of the process I had to yank a lot of fabric up above eye level. Ugh! Takes too much effort and pulls on your neck and shoulders, too. Neck and shoulder pain is NO FUN!

The simple solution that makes it so much easier is to attach the curtain with liner on both ends first.

Here's how you do it:

1. Get a steady step stool.
2. Standing on the stool, bring the liner and outer curtain together at the top where the holes are.
3. Fasten the hole on the end of each to the shower curtain ring. Let's say we start on the LEFT.

Fasten the shower curtain hook on the end first.
Start with the ring on the farthest end.

4.  Attach the far RIGHT ring to the two holes on the right end next. (One hole on the curtain, one on the liner)
Start by hanging the extreme ends first. #shower #curtain
Start by attaching both ends and work inward.
5. Proceed methodically attaching the next rings in from the left and right until you get the final ones done in the middle.
6. What this does for you is that it takes the WEIGHT from the curtains and places it on the rings, not on YOU!
